It’s not hard to figure out that this is a problem and it’s affecting more of us than we know. The 7th leading cause of death and rising in America is from complications from Diabetes. It amazes me to see someone who has this condition, knowing that it is slowly killing them, still stuffing themselves with potatoes and finishing that off with a giant bowl of ice cream – every day! I have seen many patients over the years looking for the easy way out…..for 20 + years! They never change, because there was no self-discipline and they wanted the easy way out. All I can tell you is, “good luck with that.” In fact, some of you reading this, know who you are…..
What are some symptoms of Diabetes?
Here are some symptoms of Type II Diabetes and being overweight:

This is really simple, so pay close attention:
- LOW-CALORIE DIETS simply do not work, you are only starving yourself and your body will adapt. Intermittent fasting can help, but more is needed. FOOD COMBINATIONS are the key! What foods you eat together, helps the body better assimilate your food.
- REPLENISH YOUR HORMONES – the Adrenal, Thyroid, and Pancreas are hormone systems that need to work properly for weight loss to take place. Nutritional intervention comes to the rescue here. (Yes you have to take supplements)
- REMOVE JUNK FOOD from your diet completely! All the Trans Fats, vegetable oils, etc. only clog up your system. One report said these fats create a “sluggish” liver. Heck, ants don’t even touch Margarine, so you should remove it also.
- YOU MUST EXERCISE – 30 minutes a day or at least 3 times a week is a good start. Motivation is now needed, so play your motivation music and START! (Qi Gong video)

There are plenty of other tips and ideas to get you going, I could write a book on all the things I have done to help others in this area. One other tip of the iceberg is drinking more WATER, 30-60 ounces a day, helping your body flush its fat cells & toxins, very important. By the way, as one patient thought – hey I drink 8 cups of coffee a day, does that count for the water? My answer – “NO.” This will only make things worse, it dehydrates you and stresses your body (especially your adrenals & kidneys) even more. There is one little trick that I have up my sleeve for those coming off coffee, not forever, just temporarily until your hormones can rebalance. I will save that one for your interview with me.

Your EMOTIONS have a lot to do with how you dress, talk, walk, work, communicate with others, and of course how you EAT! (Some of us are emotional eaters)
So if you come from a Diabetic family and just say, well it’s in my genes – my DNA says I will be overweight and have Diabetes. If you truly believe that, then you need a wake-up call. That is what we call in society – an excuse. I call it a Limited Belief, because that is exactly what it is, a “limiting” belief that you cannot make change. (The Illusion)
I can promise you this, if this is your family, look what everyone is eating. This is usually the CARB family; I will have some bread with those potatoes and please pass the cake while you’re at it. A high-carb diet is the worst and will put you in an early grave. If you want to make a change, it has to start with ONE change. Food combinations are a good start. Start with mixing your foods with foods that digest well together. For example: when you eat proteins like red meat, with a vegetable & any green food or even a salad they digest more easily. Don’t mix a steak with a potato, they simply do not mix well and you will have bad digestion, bloating especially which makes you feel full and gas.
The program of Meal Planning is up to you which you can choose. Some like High Protein, which is popular like Paleo & Keto. Others may want to venture into being a Vegetarian or even a Vegan. It is your choice which direction you want to go, we will simply be your guide. High Fats (Omega 3’s) are always a good approach following a medium protein and low carb or even a NO carb way of eating. There are many ways to make a change, we have to also look into your GenoType, Blood Type, and your constitution. Maybe you are too hot or too cold, these are always considerations when it comes to designing your meal plan.
